Assistant Principal

Dear CLE Families,

I am thrilled to begin my twentieth year in education as a Chapel Lakes Cheetah! I have been fortunate to be a part of the Blue Springs School District for all of my career. The first seventeen years were spent teaching in fifth and third grades at James Lewis Elementary. This is my third year as an administrator and second year as the assistant principal at Chapel Lakes Elementary. Greater Kansas City has always been my home so the University of Missouri-Kansas City was the natural fit for me to get my teaching certificate. I later received a Master’s degree from Webster University and, most recently, my Specialist in Elementary Administration from University of Central Missouri.

On a personal note, my husband and I live in Blue Springs and spend much of our free time with our kids. We like to play games as a family, travel, and go antiquing. I also enjoy reading whenever I have a chance. My two daughters are products of the Blue Springs School District. All thirteen years of their elementary through high school education were spent in BSSD! Our oldest is recently married and teaches high school English. Our youngest recently graduated with her Master’s degree in social work. The new son-in-law is a paramedic and fireman for Lee’s Summit Fire Department.

At BSSD, we believe that every student has a voice and is a valued part of our community. The best way to walk this out and support our students is to unite the home community with that of the school. I encourage communication and know that an open-door policy is a necessary and welcome component to our continued relationship.  I look forward to working with you for the success of our students and am grateful to partner with you in educating your children.

Thank you,

Mrs. Missie Goss
