In cooperation with local entities and neighboring school districts, we've made the decision to extend our school closure through April 24.

Thank you for your patience and understanding as we work through this situation.

School Closure till April 24th

Beginning Monday, March 23rd, eleven of our buildings will be offering meal pick up services for BSSD students Monday-Friday from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

These to-go bagged meals will include lunch and a breakfast item and be offered as drive-thru or walk-up options.

Additionally, we will be offering meal drop off at six other locations where many BSSD families live or stay.

Please help us stay healthy and safe by refraining from coming to a pickup or drop off location if you or anyone in your family is ill.

Why did you want to be a music teacher?

I wanted others to feel the same connection and enjoyment I had when I was in music.

What is one thing you love about Chapel Lakes?

I love the staff here, every single person is so kind and really care about the education and success of every student.

Get to Know Me:

Music has always been a huge part of my life. Due to my passion and drive to become a more well-rounded musician I was lucky enough to travel the world and perform with some fantastic musical ensembles. After graduating from Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff, Arizona I got married in Hays, Kansas (the hometown of my now wife). While in Hays we helped out the local schools in anyway we could all the while confirming to ourselves, that teaching music was what both of us wanted to do. I have always tried to involve myself in any musical experience I can so that I may keep learning, as well as, take those things I have learned back to my students. This past fall I have been so lucky to work with the Blue Springs High School Golden Regiment Marching Band under the direction of Dr. Tim Allshouse. I have been having a wonderful time here in the Blue Springs School District growing and sharing the joys of music with everyone I meet. I look forward to the future!

We are lucky to have Mr. Laird as part of our Cheetah family!
